About the Odisha CT Entrance and the D.El.Ed Course
CT is short for Certified Teacher, and the course itself is the two-year D.El.Ed, the Diploma in Elementary Education. SCERT Odisha, which sits under the state education department, runs both the entrance and the course. Students who finish it are appointed as teachers in Upper Primary schools across Odisha.
Only candidates who have passed +2 or Class 12 may sit for the entrance, and every stream is allowed. Because the intake is school-level, the paper draws from Class 10 and +2 material rather than from degree syllabi. - 2020: a seven-day window from 7 to 13 November, again three shifts each day.
- 2019 and 2018: four batches a day, spread across 6 to 12 June 2019 and 9 to 14 August 2018.
Two things follow from that list. First, a different question set is used in every shift, so a single paper is never a full picture of a year. Second, the entrance is a computer-based test taken at a centre in your own district, so screen practice matters as much as paper practice.
