Age is counted as on 01.01.2026, and only the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary certificate is accepted. No later request to change the date of birth is entertained.

• Ex-servicemen: For Principal, Ex-military persons get 5 years upper age relaxation. For other posts, the age limit follows G.A. Notification No. 22586/Gen dated 16.10.1985 – an Ex-serviceman with at least six months continuous service may deduct that service from actual age. Ex-servicemen may apply without an upper age limit, but candidature beyond the admissible relaxation is rejected after verification.
• In-service teachers: Teachers working under State/Central Govt or their Autonomous Organisations get up to 5 years relaxation for all teaching posts except Principal.
• PwD: Disability must be permanent and not below 40% in the respective category, with benchmark disability and functional requirement as per SSEPD Resolution No. 1843 dated 25.02.2021.
