No. 1/2026 for 815 Principal and Teacher posts in Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) and Odisha Mining Adarsha Vidyalayas (OMAVs) through direct recruitment. OAVS Vacancy Details 2026 (Post & Category-Wise)

As per Advt. No. 1/2026, here is the post-wise and category-wise vacancy breakup of all 815 posts, including reservation for women (W), Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and Sports Persons:

PwD Reservation: Category-I (Blindness & Low Vision) – 9, Category-II (Hard of Hearing) – 9, Category-III (Locomotor Disability) – 7, Category-IV (Combination of I, II & III) – 7. The actual number of vacancies may increase or decrease.

OAVS Eligibility & Qualification 2026

General conditions: Candidates must be Indian citizens, of sound mind and must not have more than one living spouse. They must have passed MIL Odia up to ME standard (or pass it from BSE Odisha within 3 years of joining) and be able to teach in both English and Odia medium. All TGT candidates must have passed OSSTET / OTET Paper-II (BSE) or CTET Paper-II (CBSE). Rounding off of percentage is not allowed (e.g. 49.99% is treated as below 50%). OAVS Age Limit 2026

Age is counted as on 01.01.2026, and only the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation certificate is accepted.

Ex-military persons get 5 years relaxation for Principal; for other posts, Ex-servicemen age limits follow G.A. Notification No. 22586/Gen dated 16.10.1985. In-service teachers of State/Central Govt or their Autonomous Organisations get up to 5 years extra relaxation for all posts except Principal.

How to Apply & Application Fee

The fee is non-refundable, plus bank charges, and is paid online only through SBI e-Pay (Debit Card / Net Banking). Follow these steps to apply:

1. Sign Up: Visit oav.edu.in, accept the instructions (‘I Agree’ → Start) and sign up with a valid e-mail ID and mobile number (both must stay active for at least one year). Login details are sent to them.
2. Fill the Form: Log in again and fill Personal and Qualification details. Enter percentage up to two decimals; convert CGPA/OGPA to percentage as per your university norms.
3. Upload Photo & Signature: Recent colour passport photo (not older than 3 weeks, about 200×230 px) and signature in black/blue ink (about 140×60 px), each JPG/JPEG up to 100 KB.
4. Choose Exam Cities: Select any three CBT cities in order of preference.
5. Pay Fee & Print: Pay online, keep the system-generated fee receipt and print the application form with its registration number. Payment confirmation may take up to 48 hours; if not received, mail the Grievance Redressal Form to oavshelpdesk2026@gmail.com.

Do not register more than once for the same post — multiple registrations may be rejected. Documents need not be sent to OAVS by post or by hand.

OAVS Selection Procedure 2026

The OAVS Recruitment selection is done through a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by an interview (plus a performance test for Art and Computer Teachers). Here is the post-wise breakup:

Candidates must report at the exam centre at least 90 minutes before the CBT. Shortlisted candidates must bring original certificates with one set of self-attested copies for verification; in-service candidates must produce a No Objection Certificate. Interviews can be answered in Odia or English, and no TA/DA is paid. Recruitment for TGT Social Studies, PET and Art Teacher is subject to the final outcome of pending writ petitions in the Orissa High Court.

OAVS Exam Pattern 2026

Principal Exam Pattern (Total 180)

For the Principal post, Parts II, III and IV are evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Part-I with a minimum of 5 marks each in English and Odia and 13 marks in aggregate. The final merit is prepared on Parts II, III, IV and interview (40+30+70+60 = 200), with a weighted scheme of 70% test and 30% interview.

TGT, PGT, PET, Art & Computer Teacher Pattern (Total 200)

For these posts, Parts II and III are evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Part-I with a minimum of 5 marks each in English and Odia and 13 marks in aggregate. There is 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer and the question paper is bilingual (English & Odia). The CBT is likely to be held in 11 cities: Baleswar, Bargarh, Baripada, Berhampur, Bhadrak, Balangir, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Rourkela and Sambalpur (subject to change). Candidates must choose any three cities in order of preference; requests to change the allotted centre are not entertained.
