• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
• Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: Elementary Stage

• Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
• Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed.

CTET Odia Question Exam Pattern

All questions in CTET are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four alternatives out of which one answer is correct. Each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking, so never leave a CTET Odia Question unattempted.

There are two papers of CTET: Paper I is for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes I to V, and Paper II is for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII.

Nature and standard of questions:

• The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. They focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
• The test items in Language I focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction — this is where the CTET Odia Question paper comes in for Odia-medium candidates.
• The test items in Language II focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
• Language II will be a language other than Language I. A candidate may choose any one language as Language I and another as Language II from the available language options and must specify the same in the Confirmation Page.

Paper II (for Classes VI to VIII) Elementary Stage — Duration of examination: Two-and-a-half hours. Structure and Content (All Compulsory):

Qualifying marks and award of CTET certificate: As per NCTE notification No. 76-4/2010/NCTE/Acad dated 11.02.2011, a person who scores 60% or more in the TET exam is considered TET pass. Practising the CTET Odia Question paper repeatedly is the surest way to cross that 60% line.

Procedure for conduct of examination and use of OMR answer sheet: The procedure for conduct of the examination and the instructions for the use of the Test Booklet and OMR Answer Sheet are supplied with the paper. Candidates are advised to go through the instructions carefully before proceeding for the examination, exactly as printed on the question booklet.
