PwD Reservation: Category-I (Blindness & Low Vision) – 9, Category-II (Hard of Hearing) – 9, Category-III (Locomotor Disability) – 7, Category-IV (Combination of I, II & III) – 7. The actual number of vacancies may increase or decrease.
General conditions: Candidates must be Indian citizens, of sound mind and must not have more than one living spouse. They must have passed MIL Odia up to ME standard (or pass it from BSE Odisha within 3 years of joining) and be able to teach in both English and Odia medium. All TGT candidates must have passed OSSTET / OTET Paper-II (BSE) or CTET Paper-II (CBSE). Rounding off of percentage is not allowed (e.g. 49.99% is treated as below 50%). The OAVS Recruitment selection is done through a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by an interview (plus a performance test for Art and Computer Teachers). Here is the post-wise breakup:

Candidates must report at the exam centre at least 90 minutes before the CBT. Shortlisted candidates must bring original certificates with one set of self-attested copies for verification; in-service candidates must produce a No Objection Certificate. Interviews can be answered in Odia or English, and no TA/DA is paid. Recruitment for TGT Social Studies, PET and Art Teacher is subject to the final outcome of pending writ petitions in the Orissa High Court.

For the Principal post, Parts II, III and IV are evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Part-I with a minimum of 5 marks each in English and Odia and 13 marks in aggregate. The final merit is prepared on Parts II, III, IV and interview (40+30+70+60 = 200), with a weighted scheme of 70% test and 30% interview.

For these posts, Parts II and III are evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Part-I with a minimum of 5 marks each in English and Odia and 13 marks in aggregate. There is 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer and the question paper is bilingual (English & Odia). The CBT is likely to be held in 11 cities: Baleswar, Bargarh, Baripada, Berhampur, Bhadrak, Balangir, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Rourkela and Sambalpur (subject to change). Candidates must choose any three cities in order of preference; requests to change the allotted centre are not entertained.

There are 815 posts under Advt. No. 1/2026: 109 Principal, 101 PGT, 362 TGT, 88 Art Teacher, 83 PET and 72 Computer Teacher.
Selection is through a Computer Based Test (CBT) and interview with a 70:30 weightage. For Art and Computer Teachers, a performance test is added and the weightage is 50% test, 20% performance test and 30% interview.

Candidates must secure a minimum of 5 marks each in English and Odia and 13 marks in aggregate in Part-I to have the remaining parts evaluated.
